I think that it is what it is. Just another ad campaign targeted at capturing more market share. Because isn't that the end goal of all ad campaigns not matter how benevolent we may think that they are. Sure this ad campaign has a great message, and I totally agree with it. But when you step back and look at the purpose of it, they are trying to capture more of the "real woman" market share. And it has been very successful for them so far.

It reminds me of a class I took at BYU (can't remember which) that was on how advertisements affect women and showed us on onslaught of similar pictures that made me sick. Collin Shaw is probably right in that they are trying to capture more of a certain market but it is crazy how much advertising projects fake perfect women. Don't like it. Spacious building.

Of course Dove is trying to capitalize on a good message, getting "real women" to buy their products because they claim to understand that unrealistic images of women are wrong. But you know what? I'll take it because at least it's building on a good message for a change.
